I think the women are carrying some sort of vegetable(?) I was in the car when I took it. Many women here earn their income carrying heavy items on their backs and heads--from huge yellow jerry cans, large sticks, etc. In a good day, a woman may be hired for five trips (200 francs per trip= less than 50 cents).
